Charlecote Park at 4am

Following two successful events the Warwick4amProject is arranging its 3rd meeting. Everyone can take part and join in! All you need is a camera. We want to see what you see at that moment in time on that one day. What’s your view at 4am?

We are holding our next Warwick4amProject on the 2nd February and warmly welcome our previous guests as well as new ones. The National Trust at Charlecote Park has very kindly allowed us to wander around and take photographs of the main courtyard and the area outside the restaurant, so you may come across some novelties rarely seen at this hour.

“Superb Tudor house and landscape deer park

Charlecote has been home to the Lucy family since the 12th century. Their stories are told throughout the house with their portraits as well as through the objects they collected from around the world. See the design influence they had on the house and parkland. Step into the house today and you will see how Mary Elizabeth Lucy spared no expense furnishing it in Victorian times.

The gardens include a formal parterre, colourful herbaceous planting, woodland walk and the wider parkland (inspired by 'Capability' Brown), which offers miles of walks and views across the River Avon. A herd of fallow deer has been in the park since Tudor times.”

To find out more about Charlecote Park, the wonderful grounds, house and outhouses, you can visit their website at http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/charlecote-park/ . If you are not a member of the National Trust, I would highly recommend becoming one. To find out more please visit: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/membership/

When, Where, What do I need

When: Saturday 2nd February 2013
What Time: Meet at 3:45 am

Where: Charlecote Park’s main car park

What do I need: Just a camera, the desire to get to know some new people and have fun. We are also asking that you bring a mobile and torch with you due to the size of the grounds.

How Many Tickets: We are looking to allow around 30 people to come and join in this unique event at Charlecote Park. If you are interested then please visit our Eventbrite page where you can sign up for a ticket. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, but don’t worry if they have all gone, you can go on a stand-by list in the event of any ticket holders being unable to attend.

Note: Please respect the areas that we are being allowed to photograph as the site does have residents who will be asleep. There are also dangers further into the park such as the river, lake and high walls – we have excluded these areas for your protection. After the event you agree for your photos to be added to our Flickr account as Creative Commons licence and a copy provided to the National Trust (all copyright will remain with the photographer).
